Just a Thought.....

I feel good today, I posted to 2 new sites and hope to do it all the time now. Great new music to get my creativity juices JUMPing, thinking about my Dad and I have good friends, great family and I am one lucky duck. I just had to share that thought with you. Have an artful day.

Current Favorite Music 4 Art Space

This is the best CD for moving you along in your art studio!!! British artist with a South America flair. Every tune is upbeat and sassy!! You are going to love it. I bought it for one song 'in these shoes?' but the whole CD has me dancing in my art space. Kirsty rocks!!! Posted by Picasa

Good Day!!1

I posted to Studio Friday and Inspire Me Thursday. I have been wanting to do this for so long and I finally did. Of course, the artwork on both blogs is so fabulous, I hope I can create like the other artists do. So to challenge myself, I just did it. It is the only way to get into the deep end of the POOL. LOL

Studio Friday - COMFORT

Studio Friday - COMFORT a picture of my Dad as a young man. His little photo is in my art space in a spot where I can just glance to see him, smiling at me. This picture is a comfort and joy to me since he passed. I love his smile, he was always smiling, kind, warmhearted, funny and loving - a comfort to be in his presence. Posted by Picasa

InSpire Me Thursday

Inspire Me Thursday:monochromatic art - a single color BLUE in a palette of light to dark shades. Canvas board painted with 2 hues of blue and then as many BLUE items I could find. Oh, there were plenty of BLUE things but you wouldn't see that pretty face. Posted by Picasa

What a Week!!!

What a week, my computer got a virus!!! and crashed!!! I was lost to say the least. I just got it back today from a geek squad that didn't do much for the money they charged 'your computer has a virus." End of story. So I had to use a recovery disc and lost all the stuff saved on my pc. I don't think there was a lot out there but I will have to some things back. So now once a month I will download my pictures and things. What a disappointment!! Hope everyone had an artful week. Take care for now.

Last 1 for 2day, I promise

So I was reading Lynne Perrella's new book Alphabetica (if you don't have it, RUN to the book store and get a copy!) It 's wonderful and will spark your imagination. Lynne had a page with a grid (the background was those blank stamp sheets) showing colors and she put an item or painted a stamp with the color in the line. I have the blank stamp sheets, of course I do, so I worked on the grid, 2. It's red at top, then green, orange, blue and yellow. I had a blast looking for items, and I got to paint again. I did it to see if I would like to use it in a book project I am working on with my gal pals. Still thinking about it.  Posted by Picasa

Can't stop myself...

This is the top of the card holder where my 'art in progess' board hangs. It has a postcard, a C with rhinestones and some goodies my art sister, D. sent me. It is really quite wonderful. Have a artful weekend. Posted by Picasa

Ooops, picture is here!

I do screw up sometimes, lol, I guess I was pushing the buttons too fast and the picture didn't appear on the last statement. Here it is! I need to work on taking my pictures with nicer backgrounds.  Posted by Picasa

1 more piece....

I made this today, 2. I was reading my new Somerset Studio and the guest artist, Andrea Fuhrman talked about her art style and how she liked to paint gesso over a postcards and rework it. So I did the same, I gessoed everything but the little girl and collaged and painted some more, and even used some real glitter. What a mess! What fun!! I used painted, I usually stay away from paint but I am trying to use it more in my artwork. I must say that I really like the effects.  Posted by Picasa

Door Sign

Just a sign I made for the door to my art space. It says 'art in progress.' I guess I want to be left alone when I am in the creative mode. LOL It stops no one but that's okay. I used a canvas board 10x20 and just glued all the scrap papers on with Mod Podge. I didn't know how to get it up on the door, I thought about hammering in a nail to the door but I am sure that husband would flip so I just a card holder that hooks over the top of the door. I have a ribbon attached to the board and just slipped it into the rings where cards should go. Did it awhile ago. I love it. Posted by Picasa

Simple Artwork

Just a simple artwork that I made today in about a half hour. It took that much time becuase I had to wait for the paint to dry on the 4x6 canvas board. And a little time for the glue to dry but it was so much fun working on something small. I used a mix of beads for her crowning glory with diamond glaze as the glue. Where would I be without diamond glaze? I want to use other adhesives but keep coming back to the glaze. Tied a silky bow on the bottom and it's done. I might send it to my goddaughter to cheer her up. On the back I will finish it with a note to her and how much I love her. Just wanted to share. Posted by Picasa

Almost Spring!

It's March, so spring can't be far behind. It's snowing today where I live, it's okay, it's just light and fluffy. It has been awhile since I have been to my blog, I have been busy with art projects and other things, but I haven't forgotten anyone. Working on some special things for Spring 4 some of my friends. I have been playing with a little cardboard house that I got from Artitude and it is so much fun. I think I will make it a 'muse house' when it is all finished. I sent a house to my friends, I wonder if they ever played with their houses? Well, I will check back later.

Be artful today - do something creative everyday, that's my motto & the mottoe of my favorite store-Paper Source.
